Twilight’s Blush
Twilight’s Blush
Lying here in the wild precipice of peace
Earth falls away; silence transcends silence
I snail your warmth into mine
Revelling in these tender moments —
Lips juicy, berry-red, infused with fire
Murmuring softly, voices low and husky
Nose pressed into your moss-green shirt
The full moon still kissing your cheeks
Twilight’s violet blush accentuates their contours
I marvel as starlight clings to your lashes
Nature hums in sleepy garden beds
Your magic still teasing my tongue — my hair
Painting canopy dreams in wooded thickets
Seeking your amber light, the praise in your eyes
Brushing my skin in thick honeyed threads
The song I sing is my love’s universe
Wind-sweet with favor and deep —
Deep as the word, cello, whispered underwater
